How to check my transmission fluid

Checking your vehicles transmission fluid is very important!

To check your cars transmission follow these steps.

1. The vehicle must be warmed up to get a correct reading, driving around the block once should do it.
2. Always set the parking brake for saftey and make sure to be on a level surface.
3. With the engine running and transmission in park (some chryslers to transmsssion needs to be in neutral ) pull out the transmission dipstick and wipe it off.
4. Reinstall the stick, wait 2 seconds and pull it out making sure to keep the stick in a horizontal position.  Carefully check both sides of the stick, and whichever side of the stick shows a lower fluid level is the side to trust.
5. Add the correct type fluid if low and make sure the transmission does not have any leaks.
